FAQs
Mild HBOT uses a chamber that delivers oxygen at a lower pressure (1.4 ATM) compared to traditional HBOT (up to 2.5+ ATM). While traditional HBOT is typically used for severe medical conditions like decompression sickness, mild HBOT focuses on wellness, general recovery, wound healing, and care after concussions.
Mild HBOT can support recovery from physical activity, reduce inflammation, enhance oxygen delivery, and promote overall wellness. It is also effective in treating traumatic brain injuries, promoting better wound healing, and recovery from long-COVID. While not a substitute for higher-pressure HBOT in treating certain medical conditions, it can be an excellent complement to your health routine.
During a session, you’ll relax in a comfortable chamber while breathing pure oxygen through a nasal cannula, under mild pressure. Your ears may pop as if you are in an airplane. Many patients find the experience relaxing and report feeling refreshed afterward.
The chamber takes about 18 minutes to reach pressure, and your session’s time starts only once we reach pressure. The average session is between 80 minutes and 110 minutes, depending on whether you want to stay in the chamber for an hour or 90 minutes. The rate is $100/hr at pressure. Depending on your goals, a series of sessions may be recommended.
Yes, mild HBOT is considered very safe for most individuals. If you have any medical conditions, we’ll discuss whether it’s the right option for you before beginning treatment.
The number of sessions depends on your individual health goals. Some patients benefit from occasional use for general wellness, while others may choose more frequent sessions for recovery or ongoing support.

"I went to see Dr. Calhoun and I’m very impressed. He is professional, and compassionate. He takes the time to listen and get to know you as a person and treats you as a whole person not just your ailment. I also tried dry needling for the first time. I was skeptical after a 20 year back injury. But the procedure was so worth it. I woke up today with no back pain. I was able to get on the floor with my kids and clients without pain or numbness down my legs. Thank you Dr. Calhoun."

"Competent & compassionate care! I've become very distrusting of the medical profession, but Dr Calhoun quickly earned my trust. He took a genuine interest in my health complaint and approached treatment options with a fresh and critical eye; rather than simply issuing a scripted diagnosis and medication, he examined all possible factors before arriving at his best, individualized treatment plan. I am very pleased and would highly recommend!"

"I am a true skeptic, but can definitely appreciate and understand Dr. Bob wanting to help the patient, not the major medical companies and insurance. He came to my mother’s home twice as a common meeting place to treat a family member. He is attentive and understanding. The first visit did not solve the problem. What I found so REMARKABLE was he, on the second visit, told us he thought an orthopedist would be needed. He did offer a dry needle solution to ease the pain and LOW AND BEHOLD, with experience and understanding of the human body, Dr. Bob was able to bring immense release from a lot of the pain, with future relief promising. An answer to prayers!!! THANK YOU!!"

"Makes You Feel Like You’ve Been Knowing Him! Dr. Calhoun is nothing short of amazing! He’s very professional, attentive, dependable and personable. Very down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. He doesn’t make you feel like you’re just another number. He really cares about his patients. I was blessed to have him as my Doctor."

"To say that Dr. Calhoun is a phenomenal physician is an understatement. His care and expertise has had a very direct impact on our family. I received better care and results from this one Dr. than the plethora of specialists I had been handed off to in years prior. From pain relief with dry-needling, concerning a broken vertebrae, to working out what fertility specialists hadn't even checked (finally welcomed our first this year!), and my husband's recovery from surgeries. He is compassionate, honest, and a fierce advocate for his patients."
